MUSIC
Dear Music Wizards,
Here's a fun activity you can do with anyone at your home.
Are you enjoying this new adventure? I realize some of you do not have instruments, but that is okay. We will still create music. This is even something you can do with your entire family, even your little brothers and sisters.

BUCKET DRUMMING EQUIPMENT AND PARTS
PERCUSSION LESSON 1: THE BASIC GRIP
5 BASIC RHYTHMS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW
WE WILL ROCK YOU - QUEEN BUCKET DRUM
I realize most of you do not have drum sticks, but you can probably find something that will work. Drum sticks are 15 - 17 inches long. Try to find two sticks or dowels of the same length and thickness that will work. If you do not have anything like that just use pencils.
Look at the picture for how to properly hold a drum stick and watch the video called "The Basic Grip." Your thumb and first finger serve as a pivot point in holding the stick. After you strike a drum the stick should be able to freely bounce up like a basketball.
Five gallon buckets work best for drumming but if you do not have one find something else. Even a garbage can can work.
If you are not already driving your mom crazy, bucket drumming will probably push her over the edge. Find a quiet, private place to try your bucket drumming. Outside would be a great place, especially since the weather is so nice.
Have fun!
Mr. Daniels
